In choosing a name for my business (back in the “olden days” before sites like Wikipedia and dictionary.com), I knew I wanted a word that represented “group harmony.” My colleague David Hatcher of Landa Associates suggested “Concordia,” the Roman goddess of agreement and understanding—not only was it a perfect choice, but I thought it sounded great with “Consulting." Some aspects of my business have changed since Concordia Consulting first came into being, but there have been a few constants: Dave and his wife Lane Goddard are still my colleagues and dearest friends, communication is still the key to a successful business, and “Concordia” still sounds professional and harmonious.
