Karen holds a master’s degree in organizational development from Johns Hopkins University, and an undergraduate degree in industrial psychology from the University of Virginia. Karen earned a Certificate in Organizational Inclusion & Diversity from the Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Additionally, she completed the Certificate of Mastery in D, E, & I Leadership from a program developed and taught by Dr. Shirley Davis. Karen has been accepted as a full member of the National Speakers Association and has earned their CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) designation. She was a board member of the NSA-DC chapter from 2012 to 2018, and president from 2016 to 2017. Karen is also on the steering committee of the Human Resources BioAlliance (HRBA).
Karen starts most mornings with her yoga practice or a vigorous walk with her loving friends. Karen’s thoroughly enjoys her texts and chats with her three adult children as they share their trials and tribulations in launching their own careers. She is still madly in love with her hubby of 30+ years. Karen brings mindfulness, productivity, and better communication to the workplaces where she empowers others to create the lives they wish for themselves.
