Last week I had the opportunity to present the program Training for Every Budget. It was a program designed for HR Leaders and Employee Development Managers, organized by HR Roundtable.
As one of the exercises, I had the participants make a list of the “people problems” they had in their organizations. Not surprisingly, every problem that was listed could either be solved, or lessened, by training. Training can take so many forms: in-person, hybrid, through coaching, through mentoring, peer to peer, and of course, online.
We also discussed during the program how to figure the ROI for training. If employees are leaving due to poor management, or a lack of opportunity, what is the cost? If leaders are siloed and not collaborating and cooperating within departments, what is the cost? If customers are leaving due to poor customer service, what is the cost? How can HR professionals show ROI on training and development? If you are interested, I am happy to meet with you and work through a business case for your organization.
If you are wondering how to get started offering more developmental opportunities for your employees, we have prepared a document with ideas. Please reach out to us and we will send it to you.
Looking forward to working with you to bring more robust programming to your organization!
