A few days ago, I was reminded during my yoga class that November is the month of gratitude. Our instructor asked us to think of something we were grateful for and hold that gratitude and appreciation throughout the class. He reminded us several times during the class to refocus our attention toward gratitude.
It was an easy exercise for me because the day before a former client had contacted me to work with his new team. We had worked together previously but he changed organizations several years ago and now has a new team. While I am always grateful for new work, work with a former colleague is a boost because we have immediate rapport and trust.
Gratitude in one area of my life always makes me think about additional areas. My personal life, relationships, health and fitness, finances, and community involvement. So often we set goals in each of these areas, but how often do we stop and appreciate what we have received and achieved in each? I hope this Thanksgiving, you will take the time to pause and feel gratitude.
